Will you tell us a story? - Storytelling Course
This is a course for anyone who is interested in learning how to apply oral storytelling in a language teaching context: language teachers, educators, storytellers who work with language learners, or even parents / home educators.
We will specifically focus on stories, techniques and activities to use with children, but that can easily be adapted to teach other age groups.

Oral storytelling as playful pedagogy - Alastair K Daniel // Workshops 2025-2026
Classroom oral storytelling is a social activity between teller and listener(s) that, in a playful and supportive context, can provide learners with opportunities to shape and reshape their own tales, drawing on (and developing) their own understandings of the world as they do so. Exploiting the characteristics of play in this way, learners connect with others and explore shared histories, attitudes and values. In this workshop, having distinguished oral storytelling from other spoken word practices, participants will engage in supportive and playful activities that emphasise oral storytelling as a process of meaning-making.

Let's make a star story together! - Despina Ariou // Workshops 2025-2026
Look at the sky, look at the stars, look at the constellations up there! So many stories were born by looking at the stars and the shapes they form by linking them. So, why not create a new one together? Let yourself be guided by Despina’s knowledge and passion for star stories and myths, and join us to create your very own stars story!

When Stories Speak: Folktales and Drama in the EFL Classroom - Evi Karydi // Workshops 2025-2026
This hands-on workshop shows how the Palestinian folktale Milk is for Milk and Water is for Water can spark active language learning. Through drama techniques—teacher-in-role, thought-tracking, and collective retelling—participants explore how stories foster communication, creativity, and intercultural understanding. Leave with practical, low-prep strategies for joyful, story-rich EFL teaching.

Be playful, be creative: Storymaking activities for you, me and everybody - Simona Stambazzi // Workshops 2025 - 2026
Have you ever noticed that the more creative things you do, the easier it gets to be creative? Creativity is a skill, and it can be honed and nurtured in ourselves and our students. In this workshop, Simona will share some of her favourite storymaking activities to create new stories and play with existing ones - drama, mimes, games, words and pictures will spark our imagination and help us play… and create!
Storytelling as a Means of Social Emotional Learning - Rasheedat Sadiq // Workshops 2025 - 2026
The workshop will focus on the importance of stories as a tool for building social emotional learning(SEL) and connecting storytelling to the five core SEL competencies of self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision making, social awareness and relationship skills.
Participants will have the opportunity to practice techniques which can be used to promote SEL such as story exchanges, using an emotions map, making connections, POV Shift, Plot Path and role play. Breakout sessions, followed by general reflection encourage adaptation to individual contexts.
The session involves engaging strategies that can be integrated into classroom and home routines to enhance social-emotional growth.
Personal and creative storytelling: telling our stories - David Heathfield // Workshops 2025 - 2026
Storytelling is a deeply creative part of being human. We learn about ourselves from the stories we are told and the stories we tell. The classroom is a perfect environment for teachers and students to tell stories about our own lives and experiences.
In this practical online workshop we’ll explore playful and fulfilling activities which are designed to build students' confidence and fluency in personal storytelling.
Our students can get a clear sense of themselves as creators of their own stories and, at the same time, they learn to communicate more creatively.
